With over 1 billion hours of video being watched daily on YouTube alone, getting on video is important to continue reaching your audience.
Here are nine quick tips for do-it-yourself videos.
- Use the highest quality setting in your smartphone.
- Make sure you are recording in area that does not have lot of noise even background noise.
- Make sure the lighting is always behind the camera and not behind you or the subject you are recording.
- Keep the camera at eye level as much as possible.
- Make sure if someone is using their arms they are not getting cut off in the frame – this will give you a sense of depth for how far you have to be back from the camera.
- Be in a room that does not echo – carpet is the best place to do recordings.
- For best audio, use airpods or headphones with a micrphone.
- Try to keep the video no longer than of 5-6 minutes in length.
- Be authentic and remember it’s ok to have fun and laugh at yourself. The more you do it, the more comfortable you will feel.
